I'm only on Substack so have never had the need to block on Twatsfacergram. Having said that I have been the receiver of trolling in the comments section. Particularly on Steve (world saviour) Kirsch's substack. Some bellend just wouldn't let it go, so I ended up handing his ass to him, and then he started asking Steve to block me. Fucking pathetic. I am against blocking unless they are just trolling with no context, but then my prefered option is to just ignore.

Police stopped cars on a routine check. While approaching at pedastrian pace in the queue, I got my license out, put my window down and let my hand with the licence hang out of the window. It was a sunny day and I was in a friendly mood.
When the relatively young officer apporached I smiled and gave him a friendly greeting. He didn't like that. Maybe he thought I was taking the piss (which I didn't), maybe he had an argument with his wife in the morning, I don't know.
What I do know is that, next thing. he wants to write me a ticket over $260 for hanging my arm out of the window. I am not joking. This is a real story from a small town in Australia in the year 2024.
First, like you, I thought he was joking and I literally said: "You must be joking? I open my window to show you my license and that is an punishable offence?"
It turned out that it is as he showed me on his phone quoting the road code. As long the car is rolling I can't have my hand (or any other part of my body e.g. penis, arse, leg, head) outside the vehicle. To say I was perplexed is an understatement.
It took quite a bit of arse licking while simutaneously grinding me teeths and clinching my glutes, to have the ticket downgraded to a written warning that will probably stay on my file forever - "had his hand protuding 10 cm beyond the boundaries of his car while approaching at 2 km/h."
Only now the story turns to fiction and links to the topic at hand:
That night I came home, opened my social media and blocked three guys. I went Rambo on them. They didn't offend me. They not even said anything. But I blocked them anyway. It felt so good. I really gave it to them. I destroyed them.
I restored my dignity.
Blocking people is the last tool of power I have. The last tool of bitter revenge. The last tool of not being blocked myself for being a castrated, bitter, demasculated nobody.
Do you get any points for not being on social media at all? Substack with thoughtful essays...yes. Facebook & X ...a waste of time, due to a really poor signal to noise ratio.

I agree. I only block when the trolling crosses the line from fun and entertaining to crazy or obnoxious.
