L.A. Moms Host "Autism Forever: No Cure, No Surrender" RFK Protest
One mother said ending autism is ableist and "literal genocide," as her child ate a handful of crayons nearby.
Los Angeles, CA — In a spectacle that could only happen in a coastal city, a group of parents has launched a protest against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s recent pledge to investigate the causes of autism and address its rising prevalence. The protest, dubbed "Autism Forever: No Cure, No Surrender," is organized by the self-proclaimed "Vaxxed & Vexed" coalition of mothers who are staunchly pro-autism and evidently anti-common sense.
"Give me autism or give me death!" declared one protester, holding signs that read "STOP THE CURE," and "Live, Laugh, Lick the Wall." Another parent, adjusting her over-sized septum ring, scoffed at the notion that vaccines could be linked to autism, despite her own child becoming non-verbal within hours of receiving the Hepatitis-B vaccine. "Can't be too safe," she said. "You never know if your one-month-old will befriend a group of junkies and start shooting up or sleeping around."
When questioned about the political motivations behind their protest, especially considering RFK Jr.'s association with the Trump administration, another parent responded, "This isn't about politics. It's about preserving the unique neurodiversity that makes our children special. But yeah, orange man bad, and by extension—frog voice guy crazy."
Some have floated the possibility that what we’re seeing isn't only political hysteria and performative wokeness—but a raging case of Munchausen by Proxy: Spectrum Edition. After all, what better way to feel special, needed, and morally superior than to turn your child’s neurological diagnosis into your entire personality? One protester was overheard telling a reporter, “If they cured autism, how would people know the depths of my burden and compassion?” Experts warn that while not every overzealous advocate suffers from this syndrome, the overlap between clout-chasing martyrdom and disabling your own child’s shot at support or improvement is... statistically significant.
Critics argue that opposing efforts to understand and potentially mitigate the challenges associated with autism, especially when driven by political affiliations, is counterproductive. As one observer noted, "It's troubling to see a contingent so passionately defending a condition that presents significant hardships and challenges, all because of politics.”
The “Autism Forever: No Cure, No Surrender” protest serves as a reminder that in today's polarized climate, even efforts to improve public health can become entangled in political theatrics. As the protest ended, organizers vowed to continue their fight against solutions, logic, and RFK Jr.’s "war on neurodiversity." Sources confirm the group’s next initiative will be protesting physical therapy for car accident victims. In the end, the only thing these parents fear more than fascism is handing the Trump administration a win, even at the expense of their own kids. Sometimes satire can illustrate something far better than anything else!
I did, in real life, have a friend who was the mother of an autistic child. This friend posted several comments on social media expounding how it was horrible for people to think of autism as a "disease" or a disorder. Because of how much she loved her autistic son, she saw him a being perfect and wonderful, and I'm sure he was wonderful, and I'm sure he was a perfect as his physical body would allow him to be.
I have a daughter who has a very pronounce learning disability, who, at age 38 is still at a first grade level academically. She also had epileptic seizures for a few years starting at age 5, and still has some neurological difficulties. I love her beyond words. To me, she is a blessing. That said, if I knew that there was something in the vaccinations that I allowed her to get as a baby and young child that had caused something to happen to her brain that limited her academic capacity, I would certainly want other parents to know about it so that they could make an informed decision when the time comes for them to get their own children vaccinated.
I do not remember whether or not the seizures took place shortly after she received a vaccine, but I certainly do hope that all of us would be willing to openly and honestly look at all aspects of vaccines and all medications from a non-biased perspective in order to understand their true risks and benefits, with no financial influence from Big Pharma or Big Medicine. Just pure, honest scientific research.
Brilliant. A tough one to laugh at, but I love you took it on.
