“My dad said it was about the economy, my sister said it was crime, and my aunt said it was ‘cause of ‘all the woke nonsense,’” Reid lamented in a distressed Instagram Live. “I thought at least the dog was on my side, but even he growled when I mentioned the felony convictions!”
In shock and ashamed, Reid decided to spend the holiday alone rather than face her MAGA-loving family celebrating their big win. The results were...less than spectacular. Sources close to Reid report that her attempt at cooking the turkey resulted in what neighbors described as “an alarmingly smoky incident,” while the stuffing was so hard it bent the fork. Even her loyal dog, Cracker, refused the scraps, opting instead to nibble on a stale chew toy from last Christmas.
Reid attempted to salvage the evening by watching reruns of her own show, but the sound of her voice chastising voters caused her to lose her appetite entirely. "At least I have Bluesky," she whispered into the void, though even her mentions offered little comfort as critics trolled her with comments like “F* around, find out.” She then called Sunny Hostin from 'The View' on the phone, who was also eating alone, and the two wallowed in their own self-induced misery.
Since the presidential election, MSNBC and other left-wing mainstream media outlets have experienced a significant drop in viewership and readership, as audiences have increasingly turned to alternative sources for news. Critics attribute the decline to partisan fatigue and a growing distrust in the media’s perceived bias, particularly as it pertains to divisive cultural and political narratives. The situation took a comedic turn when Elon Musk, fresh off his overhaul of Twitter (now X), joked on social media about purchasing MSNBC to balance things out. The quip triggered an on-air meltdown from host Rachel Maddow, much to the delight of, well, everyone.
Indeed, the broader lesson of the holiday debacle is one worth heeding. Families are the cornerstone of our support systems, offering love and connection even when we disagree. Allowing political divisions to sever those bonds is not only petty and immature but also cult-like and fundamentally unwise. Life is too short to let fleeting electoral outcomes split those relationships. And, perhaps most importantly, anyone advocating for such drastic measures does not deserve our viewership nor respect.
